2 Timothy 3:10-12 NKJV[10] But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, [11] persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra-what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. [12] Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
As a Christian trying to live like Christ, you ARE going to have persecution and tribulations. This means people aren’t going to always like you and things aren’t going to go your way, but the promise of Christ is He has overcome the world. In tribulations our faith can still grow and our love for those around us, even those who persecute us, can abound! We don’t have to hide under the covers and fear hard times, we need to stand firm in our faith, we need to stand firm on our faith, and know that He can see us through…so our choice in persecutions and tribulations are, do we take the bad times and use them as an excuse to fall back to our old selves and our old habits, or do we use the struggles to strengthen our faith and increase our trust in God? I choose to have God strengthen my faith!
